Maximize Your BMW's Performance

Performance starts with maintenance, then parts, then tuning. In that order. A short guide for BMW owners.

Published · Updated · By Luxur Automotive

If you drive a BMW, you care how it drives. Getting the most from the car is less about one upgrade and more about doing things in the right order: maintain it, choose parts with care, then tune.

Start with maintenance

Nothing adds performance like a healthy car. Change the oil on schedule. Keep tire pressures and alignment where they should be. Keep every fluid at its correct level.

Regular service keeps the car running cleanly. It also finds small problems before they become large, expensive ones. See how we approach scheduled maintenance.

Choose parts with care

Quality parts change how a BMW responds. Performance air intakes, exhaust systems, suspension kits and brake pads can sharpen the handling and add power.

A cold-air intake is a good example. It feeds the engine more oxygen, which helps it burn fuel more efficiently: more power, and often better economy too.

Choose parts for how you actually drive. The most aggressive option is not always the right one for the road.

Tuning and upgrades

For more, a professional tune-up or an ECU (engine control unit) remap or chip upgrade can release more of the power the engine already has. Done properly, on a car in good health, it need not cost reliability or longevity.

Talk to us before you tune. We check the car first and tell you plainly what it needs. See performance tuning and builds.

The short version

Maintain first. Choose parts for the way you drive. Tune a healthy car, with people who know BMWs. See our BMW service.
